Historique de l'ARG

Durant les années 80 la région de l'Outaouais comptait quatre associations local: Maniwaki, St-André Avelin, Hull et Gatineau. Les lettres patentes indiquent que l'association de Gatineau a été constituée en décembre 1982. Chaque association locale était membre de l'Association Régionale Ringuette Outaouais Inc. (l'A.R.R.O.I.).

En 1995 il ne restait plus que celles de Hull et de Gatineau. Maniwaki a disparu vers la fin des années 80 et celle de St-André Avelin en 1992. De plus, l'association de Hull diminuait depuis quelques années, il ne restait à peine qu'une quarantaine de joueuses dont plusieurs étaient non-résidentes. L'association de Gatineau, elle au contraire se portait très bien grâce à une équipe énergique et à une bonne promotion de la ringuette, ce qui lui a permis de grandir à chaque année. Cependant, même si le nombre de participantes augmentait, les heures de glace demeuraient toujours les mêmes.

En avril 1996, suite à plusieurs rencontres avec leurs membres et les représentants du service des loisirs des villes respectives, les associations de Hull et Gatineau procédèrent à leur dissolution afin de se fusionner sous la nouvelle Association de Ringuette de Gatineau-Hull (A.R.G.H.). Les avantages que les deux parties en ont tirés furent :

* L'augmentation du bassin de joueuses;
* La combinaison des temps de glace des deux villes;
* La reconnaissance par la Fédération Sportive de Ringuette du Québec comme étant une région privilégiée, ce qui nous permet de participer au tournoi provincial et aux jeux du Québec sans passer par des éliminatoires régionales.

À l'inscription de la saison 1997-1998, l'association comptait 166 joueuses réparties en 13 équipes.

Durant la saison 1997-1998 le site internet (www.argh.qc.ca)a été officiellement inauguré, ce qui a permis d'améliorer l'échange d'information entre l'association et ses membres, ainsi qu'à l'ensemble de la comunauté internaute.

En 2005, suite à la fusion des villes d’Aylmer, Hull, Gatineau, Buckingham et Masson- Angers, l'Association fut renommée Association de Ringuette Gatineau et englobait dès lors tout le territoire de la nouvelle grande ville de Gatineau. Il y avait 20 équipes et 248 joueuses inscrites pour la saison 2004-05. Pendant l'été 2005, un nouveau site internet (www.ringuettegatineau.ca) ainsi que le logo actuel de l'association de ringuette Gatineau voyaient le jour.

Aujourd’hui, le comité administratif est composé de douze membres qui sont élus à l’assemblée annuelle. De plus, nous avons des responsables particuliers (arbitres, cédulaire, officiels majeurs et mineurs, préposé aux équipements) qui apportent leur appui pour voir au bon fonctionnement des parties ainsi qu’au déroulement de la saison.

Notre association ne cesse de grossir d’année en année et c’est grâce aux nombreux bénévoles. Nous sommes heureux de compter sur leur soutien pour toutes nos activités de ringuette. Lors de la saison 2012-2013, nous avions l’appui de plus de 100 bénévoles qui assuraient la supervision de 26 équipes. Au total, quelque 350 joueuses portaient fièrement les couleurs de notre association.

Notre tournoi annuel est un exemple parfait, il est devenu un des plus populaire de la province et bien entendu se sont nos bénévoles et membres du CA, qui se dévouent pour le bon fonctionnement du tournoi.

Goals and Objectives

• Organize ringette in Gatineau putting at the disposal of managers, staff, materials and equipment necessary for the pursuit of goals.
•  To promote the defense of the interests physical, social and moral of the players and officials.
• Promote ringette raising awareness in the city of Gatineau as well as public and private associations to the discipline of ringette.
• Hold public events to raise funds for the fulfillment of the objectives.
• Organize training courses for team managers and referees.
• Organizing tournaments and local championships, regional, provincial and national.
• Promote the sport of ringette in the Outaouais.

History of ARG

During the 80s the Outaouais region had four local associations: Maniwaki, St-André Avelin, Hull and Gatineau. The letters patent indicate that the Gatineau association was formed in December 1982. Each local association was a member of the Regional Association Ringuette Outaouais Inc. (the A.R.R.O.I.).
In 1995 there were only those of Hull and Gatineau. Maniwaki disappeared in the late 80's and that of St-André Avelin in 1992. In addition, the association Hull decreased in recent years, there remained only a forty players many of whom were non-resident. The Gatineau association, on the contrary it was doing very well thanks to an energetic team and a good promotion of ringette, which allowed it to grow every year. However, even if the number of participants increased, the ice time still remained the same.
In April 1996, following several meetings with members and representatives of the recreation department of the respective cities, associations of Hull and Gatineau dissolved them to merge under the new Ringette Association Gatineau-Hull (A.R.G.H.). The benefits that both parties have drawn were:
* Increasing the pool of players;
* The combination of ice time in both cities;
* Recognition by the Sports Federation Ringuette Québec as a privileged region, which allows us to participate in the provincial tournament and Quebec games bypassing the regional playoffs.
At registration for the 1997-1998 season, the association had 166 players divided into 13 teams.
During the 1997-1998 season the website (www.argh.qc.ca) was officially opened, which helped to improve the exchange of information between the association and its members, as well as the entire user comunity.
In 2005, following the merger of the cities of Aylmer, Hull, Gatineau, Buckingham and Masson-Angers, the Association was renamed Gatineau Ringette Association and therefore encompassed the entire territory of the new city of Gatineau. There were 20 teams and 248 players registered for the 2004-05 season. During summer 2005, a new website (www.ringuettegatineau.ca) and the current logo of the Gatineau Ringette Association were emerging.
Today, the executive committee is composed of twelve members who are elected at the annual meeting. In addition, we have special officials (referees, schedular, major and minor officials, attendant equipment) that provide support for the smooth operation of the parties and the course of the season.
Our association continues to grow every year and thanks to the many volunteers. We are pleased to have their support for our ringette activities. During the 2012-2013 season, we had the support of over 100 volunteers who provided the supervision of 26 teams. A total of 350 players proudly wore the colors of our association.
Our annual tournament is a perfect example, he became one of the most popular of the province and of course have our volunteers and board members, who dedicate themselves to the smooth operation of the tournament.
